N,N-Dimethyltryptamine (DMT) is a naturally occurring tryptamine alkaloid and potent psychedelic compound.It is found in many plants (such as those used in ayahuasca) and animals, and is also produced endogenously in trace amounts in the human body. Chemically, it is a structural analog of the neurotransmitter serotonin.
