Let's talk about this podcast topic........It is strange to me to know we have been active for 7 almost 8 years on DW and now all this "research" and "new info" is rising again like we just learned about all this tuff. I have listened to Danny Goler and his research and it's not something we didnt know in the DMT communities.......it makes me nervous again when people come out speaking in "expert" terms making it sound like this is all break though knowledge. How Do you feel about this DW????

I think it's good and bad. I look at the compounds such as NN and 5-meo and how they are being stripped from their natural form to be made more "acceptable" in a medical setting, by these large companies who want to incorporate it into the pharmaceutical world for profit

I use quotations because some people see this as a great thing but some people see this from the perspective of taking these sacred plant medicines and compounds, and exploiting them for financial gain

Of course we want people to benefit therapeutically, and many of us have from consuming in its natural form

It makes me think of the cannabis industry and how it has lost a bit of its culture and soul due to monetization. Where passion gets put on the back burner, and the real medical qualities and the art of helping people thru the plant medicine also kinda vanished. Not completely, but has become more craft and limited to small groups who still believe in the beauty of it and helping people thru the plant

Not to mention the underground communities associated with cannabis that are not like they once were

It was definitely a if you know, you know type of thing, and there was a sort of beauty and grace to it

People put their freedom and lives on the line for these plants all for the passion and love of it

I hope the same doesn't happen with entheogens to where it becomes over popularized and people turn it into something it should of never been

I will absolutely agree that the recent influx of online popularity has really blown open the Aya-tourisim market, especially in the South and Central americas.

I am all for more people finding the medicine and its benefits, but must emphasize that everyone needs to be aware of the time and energy it takes for these plants to actually grow and harvest in their native environments. On average it takes anywhere from 5-10 years before some of the plants reach their full maturity..

And I've heard this come straight from the medcine herself and the shaman pouring.. This medcine work (talking about ayahuasca) was never intended to reach a large population scale, enough for every single body on earth. Its not the long term sustainable approach to healing or wellness and should be considered an intermediate pair of crutches to get you across the bridge..

...yeah that's a difficult question; how to balance the current supply vs demand of a very sacred and meticulously crafted medicine that takes years to produce, in a way that wont leave the source depleted...

As soon as any plant medicine becomes synthesized for mass production, you will effectively lose the baby in the bath water.

My best advice is to start saving your pennies for that retreat in Peru, and try to get in and out before the borders are shut down again. ... My crystal ball shows all the travel ordeals from 2020 will be rearing up again, possibly early-mid '27. Its like theres a sixth sense across these communities. Everyone can feel the pressure building.
